Digestive upset after starting a CBD product should be discussed with your veterinarian. The product, its ingredients, another dietary change or an illness could be involved.
What the question leaves out
A dog may receive a new oil, treats and a different food in the same week. That makes it difficult to identify the cause of loose stool. “CBD caused it” and “CBD cannot cause it” are both conclusions to avoid without assessment.
The complete ingredient list matters more than a marketing headline. Keep track of the carrier, flavorings, chew base and all other additions to the diet.
Make the next step useful
Note when the change began, stool frequency, appetite and other signs. Contact the veterinarian for guidance, especially if the dog is unwell, vomiting or the diarrhea persists. Do not keep increasing a product while waiting for the gut to adjust.
Bring packaging and a brief timeline to the conversation. Once the problem is evaluated, make future changes in a way the clinician can interpret. A clean record is more informative than repeated brand switching.
Questions, answered.
Can CBD oil give a dog diarrhea?
Digestive upset after starting a CBD product should be discussed with your veterinarian. The product, its ingredients, another dietary change or an illness could be involved.
Should I hide the oil in a richer food to prevent stomach upset?
Do not add rich foods as a workaround. Ask about the dog’s diet and the product before making further changes.
